Solana Beach: SoCal’s Quintessential Beach Town

Solana Beach is a charming beach-side community nestled along the coast of the Pacific Ocean about 25 minutes north of San Diego. It’s bordered by the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club on the east, the Pacific Ocean on the west, San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve on the north and the beach-side town of Del Mar (and it’s horse-racing track) on the south.

Encinitas is the quintessential Southern California beach town. Business people and surfers alike are lined up at Juanita’s Taco Shop for lunch. The wide sidewalks along the historic Old Highway U.S. 101 in “downtown” is lined with outdoor restaurants. Tourists and kids are seen walking around downtown barefoot, in swim suits while other are waxing down their surfboards for a session at Moonlight Beach.
