Trying to find the right flight to Aberdeen is much easier than a few years ago. There are now more flights than ever throughout Europe and more flights to Aberdeen from more destinations than ever before. If you are travelling to Aberdeen or looking for a flight from Aberdeen then you may need to do some research to find the best flight options and fares for your journey.

Getting the best fare or flight times can be a bit of a lottery unless you do a little research. You can check online to see who has flights operating to Aberdeen or contact a travel agent and ask them to do all the checking for you. The other option is to call all the airlines and ask them if they have flights to Aberdeen and what their fares and flight times are.

Travel agents have access to reservations systems and timetables and can find the best fare for your flight to Aberdeen quickly. The low cost airlines and most other airlines no longer pay travel agents any commission or the ones that do pay very little. In order to make money a travel agent will add a booking or reservation fee to your flight cost. A travel agent will be quicker but will probably cost you more in the end

You could waste a lot of time simply calling airlines that don’t even operate a flight to Aberdeen or have stopped because you are planning on travelling in an off peak season. This can also cost you money calling an airline that has a premium call phone number and still makes you wait because they don’t have enough staff to answer all the phones.

If the price of your flight to Aberdeen is the most important factor in your decision then you should remember that off-peak flights and travelling on mid-week flights offer the best chance of the cheapest fares. By booking as early as possible this can save you money but this will generally mean that you will be unable to change or alter your flight in any way. This is not a suitable option if you are travelling for a specific business meeting at a specific time or for a meeting that could be altered at the last minute.

If you are nervous about booking online call the airline you now know operates the Aberdeen flight you want. A travel agent may also be able to provide you with better alternatives than you have thought of. Obviously this is more applicable to long haul flight and less likely than if you are just looking for a flight from Aberdeen to Manchester. Searching on the internet yourself is the cheapest option unless it takes you so long it is not worth it.

When you finally make your reservation it is a good idea to book your flight with your credit card, this offers some extra financial protection. Make sure that you take a print out of your booking and of the email confirmation, most airlines no longer issue tickets and the confirmation or the booking reference is all you need.
